This Wednesday, 10/21, Vigilante #11 hits the shelves -- with JP Leon doing finishes over Walter Simonson! Holy smokes!! I haven't been looking forward to a single comic book like this in ages. I saw a little sneak peek recently and I couldn't be more excited -- there's nothing more fun than seeing 2 artists collaborate like that! So, keep your eyes open for this book on Wednesday -- grab a copy before it's gone!

Mini MegaCon Schedule

Hey folks,

For those that are coming down to the Mini MegaCon next weekend, August 22-23, I'll be appearing in the special guest area, booth 423. Doors open at 10am on Saturday, and I'll be there signing and doing con sketches. See the previous post to grab your spot!

Saturday at 12:30, I'll be appearing at the Hero Initiative booth doing head shots and busts to raise money for a great charity. Track me down there if that's what you're looking for -- I probably won't be able to do quick sketches like that during the rest of the show.

Exiles #3 out now!

I should've made a post last week, but my schedule was all messed up -- my first issue of Exiles is now in stores! My story arc kicks in with the last 4 pages of this issue, so check it out and get onboard! I'm just now finishing up issue #5, and I'm really happy with how the story turned out. The next story arc is set up and I can't wait to get started! More on that later. For now, go get Exiles #3 and let me know what you think!

Avengers Covers, part 2

Both of these are straight from pencils (no inks). It's extra work, but I was happy with the results. Everything held up and the colorist did a good job with it! I'll post the pencils on my Deviant Art site soon.

Avengers Covers

I did a few covers for the Marvel Adventures Avengers book while I was doing the Batroc story, and the first has been solicited for July! Marvel has all the details:

Nate Cosby was my editor on these and that guy is a nut. I LOVE working for him and hope we can hook up again soon. He came up with some great concepts for these, so he gets all the credit. So, look for issue #38 and #39 -- that's me!

The issue is in the can, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Some great stuff from Parker and having Karl Kesel onboard is really awesome. I've gotten into the groove with the characters, so it's nice to jump right into issue #5! I'm loving getting to draw some Marvel Universe characters that I've not drawn before... Jocasta, Ultron, and a ton more. I've drawn Machine Man and Vision before, but that was a long time ago on those Marvel Online comics I did. It's been fun to have some BWS stuff out for inspiration on all this tech -- I think Uncanny 205 might be the best comic ever.

By the way, why did Prismacolor ruin the formula for the H leads when they took over the Turqoise brand from Sanford? I'd like to know. Thank you.

Exiles #1 this Wednesday!

Don't forget to check out Exiles #1 this Wednesday, April 8th! Click here for a preview!

This issue launches the series with an entirely new cast of characters, so it all starts here. Parker did a helluva good job setting the stage for the launch, and the interior artist, Salva Espin, is really freakin' good. Be sure to check that preview to see what I mean!

Also, it's Wolverine month at Marvel, so there's a pretty cool variant for this issue, too! Art by Jason Chan!

Exiles!

Marvel has me busy on a story arc for the new Exiles series, and it starts off in June! The current artist, Salva Espin, will hand-off the pencils to me at the big ending of Exiles #3, so I'm handling the last 4 pages in that issue. Salva is an awesome artist and great guy, so it's been a lot of fun to work with him.

I'm not sure what I can say about the story when my arc kicks in, so I'll save that for later. But, I can say that Jeff Parker is writing some great scripts -- with Exiles he's getting to bring in so many cool Marvel Universe concepts and tell a really good story with them. I'm lovin' it. And, I've got Karl Kesel onboard for the inking! I've been a fan of Karl's since forever and he's doing a fantastic job on the pages! More news later!

Marvel Adventures Avengers #35 coming soon!

I've been working away on this Avengers book, and it'll be out on April 15th! I'm doing "enhanced pencils" on it, so there's no inks. It's my first time doing this since I've been putting more work into the rendering, so check it out and let me know what you think! New Warriors #20 in February!

You can find more of my work from Marvel on February 11th! It's the final issue of New Warriors, which is issue #20. It's a big double-sized blow-out, so Reilly Brown and I both worked on the pencils (I drew 19 pages, Reilly did 15... if you wanna know). So, please pick it up and let me know what you thought.
